Woodfish worked the crowd, playing the beach party atmosphere with exhortations to “get up” and “feel it”.

LIVE NATION PROVIDES WIND IN WOODFISH'S SAILS; BAND TO OPEN FOR FOGHAT AT BLENDER'S GRAMERCY THEATRE
With an official announcement from Live Nation on January 28, 2008, Woodfish will be the first regional grossing act to support national headliners in NYC for the international recognized booking and entertainment company, Live Nation.
Woodfish is making rock n' roll the old fashioned way, by writing songs which electrify and seduce not money hungry media moguls but rather the smiling faces which stare back at them every night in the barrooms which they call their homes. It is this business ethic that is earning the band a dedicated fan base throughout the Northeast.
The recent push in booking opportunities has come on the heels of a lineup change which added lead guitarist Doug Mikula, and vocalist Jimmy Counihan to the fold. The band is currently penning and arranging the compositions which will make up their debut LP; date for release is still left to be determined. Woodfish was picked as New Jersey's Shore's performer of the year in 2006 and has performed along side acts such as Keller Williams, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, The Spin Doctors' Chris Barron, Particle, Oteil & The Peacemakers (of the Allman Brothers Band), Will Hoge, deSol, and Devon Allman's Honeytribe. The band has also earned honorable mention from Q104.3's Ken Dashow.
Woodfish consists of Jimmy Counihan (vox), Doug Mikula (guitar), Dominic Kalorin (drums), Steve Kalorin (bass), and Don Honeycutt (sax).
Creating an intoxicating musical style by combining elements of rock, progressive, jam band and funk music fused with an explosively energetic stage show, Woodfish plays the music they love. Whether it's to 300 people or 30,000 screaming fans, "Woodfish are musicians in it for the right reasons," bassist Steve Kalorin will explain.

Upstage Magazine Report:
Upstage Magazine article on the Wave Festival in Asbury Park, NJ:
Woodfish followed with one of my favorite sets of the weekend. We really lucked out getting these guys at the last minute. A late scheduling change opened up the spot and thankfully they wanted it. After all, what's an Asbury music festival without a couple of bands with some horns? The place was jumping so much that people were calling their friends to come over and check it out - that's a mark of a successful festival in my opinion. When people start dragging people over to make sure they catch a set you know something is going right.

Starlight, Starbright, Woodfish at the Starland last night.......
The band would like to extend their warmest and deepest appreciation for those who saw them at the Starland Ballroom last night. The screams, the dancing, the whole night was filled with more than they had anticipated and truly appreciate everything everyone has done to help them with their music. The feeling to walk out onto the stage to see all of your faces was an overwhelming emotional wave. Without you, this band would not exist and it is you who should be applauded and hugged over and over again. Woodfish knows that they are truly blessed to have all of you in their lives……….
Woodfish all set to play with the Allman Brother's bass player Oteil Burbridge!
On April 26 of 2006, Woodfish will be opening for Oteil and The Peacemakers at the Starland Ballroom. Oteil Burbridge is an outstanding ledendary bass player who now plays for the Allman Brother's. This is a very big show for Woodfish as it will be a beginning step for the band moving to the next level. When bass player Steve Kalorin was asked how he felt about opening for a ledendary bass player such as Oteil, he responded with the statment, "Holy Mackerel".
